Students explore vivid descriptive writing, concise summarizing, and accurate paraphrasing through structured weekly lessons and guided practice.
Students will:
- Write a descriptive piece about a personally significant object using the five senses and strong emotional language
- Organize and develop multi-paragraph writing with brainstorming, outlines, and revision steps
- Summarize a chapter from a favorite book by identifying key themes, events, and characters in their own words
- Paraphrase passages from published works using original sentence structure and proper citation
- Reflect on writing through editing and presentation activities, strengthening clarity and impact
Each week follows a consistent structure of planning, writing, editing, and presentation. Graphic organizers, sensory worksheets, and structured prompts help scaffold each stage of writing.
