Schoolio™ The Arts: Introduction to DJing

Schoolio Music: Intro to DJing is a dynamic, interactive course designed for music-curious kids at a grade 6+ working level, though activities could be adapted to younger learners with some support. With no expensive equipment required, learners use free software (Mixxx) to explore the art of mixing, transitioning, and performing music like a pro.

Through 10 progressive lessons, students learn to organize digital music libraries, identify musical structures, operate digital mixing equipment, and execute clean, creative mixes. Each lesson includes a challenge activity that reinforces technical skills and develops artistic intuition. The final project ties all skills into a live-style DJ performance simulation.
