This 99-page Schoolio unit focuses on the second world war and America’s role in the war, including research assignments, case studies, and media add-ons. This unit asks student learners to evaluate the causes and implications of important historical events, while also considering the circumstances of all people at the time. The curriculum includes critical thinking and reflection skills while exploring the details of battles, figureheads, and outcomes of the war, including D-Day and the Holocaust. *Please note that this unit has some difficult and heavy content that may be more challenging for sensitive or younger learners.

Schoolio Social Studies: The Vietnam War

This 47-page Schoolio unit focuses on the Vietnam War and the United States’ role and involvement in this historical time. Student learners are introduced to the events that triggered the war in Vietnam, including the French Indochina War and the Geneva Conference. Students discover various battles and details of the war itself, and investigate anti-war protests, the fall of Saigon, and the impacts following America’s exit from Vietnam.

Schoolio Social Studies: The Cold War

This 41-page Schoolio unit focuses on the Cold War and the United States’ role and involvement in this historical time. Student learners investigate the beginnings of the Cold War and the rise of Communism and fear of its spread, while exploring details of both the arms race and space race happening at this time. The curriculum explores the Suez Canal, the Bay of Pigs, and the Cuban Missile Crisis, concluding with the collapse of the Soviet Union.
