Grammar Foundations Level 2 – A Schoolio Grammar Skills Unit

Take grammar to the next level with Grammar Foundations Level 2, a Schoolio unit that focuses on verbs in all their forms—from present and past tense to helping verbs and the verb “to be.” Students will also explore was/were, building an intuitive understanding of sentence structure and verb agreement.

Through daily mini-lessons, examples, and fun practice activities, students will deepen their ability to recognize and use verbs correctly in writing and conversation.

Students will:

• Practice using the verb “to be” in present and past tense (am, is, are, was, were) 
• Identify and use helping verbs and verb phrases (e.g., “is playing,” “should wash”) 
• Learn the difference between regular and irregular past tense verbs 
• Use present tense verbs to describe habits, truths, and actions happening now 
• Strengthen grammar through proofreading, verb correction, and sentence rewrites 

This unit includes scaffolded supports to ensure comprehension and success, with grammar tips, fill-in-the-blank exercises, and visual cues built right in.

Recommended for ages 6–8 | Approximately 4 weeks of instruction depending on your chosen pacing
