Is homeschooling legal? What do I need to do to get started?
Homeschooling is legal in all 50 US states and across Canada, though the notification requirements vary by state or province. Most require you to notify your local school district.
What about socialization? Will my kids be isolated?
This is the most common concern new homeschool parents have — and it tends to disappear quickly. Homeschool families are deeply connected to their communities: co-ops, sports teams, volunteer programs, music groups, church groups, and neighborhood friendships. Most homeschool families find their kids have more meaningful social time, not less.
Will my child be behind if they go back to school or apply to college?
